Don Frederiksen Biography I am a business intelligence and
data warehouse architect, developer, educator, and
consultant. I am currently employed at
Pearson VUE, the
computer-based testing business of
Pearson Education
in Bloomington, MN. I am also an instructor for the University of Phoenix, Minneapolis & St. Paul Campus where I facilitate FlexNet courses for UoP's Information Technology program at the Minneapolis/St Paul campus. I blog at www.leadquietly.com. My Lead Quietly blog is dedicated to quiet leaders who do the right thing with quiet, behind-the-scenes actions, not public heroism. Please visit and comment. In my "day job" as a data warehouse/business intelligence architect, I have led technical teams in database, server, and development functions during full cycle implementations of business intelligence solutions. The applications and tools used in this work include Informatica, Business Objects, Microsoft Analysis Services, Microsoft SQL Server, and Cognos. As a database administrator, I have provided database consulting and development in a variety of applications including CRM and PeopleSoft environments. As a PeopleSoft DBA, I also installed, configured, and optimized applications and web servers for the platform. I have been an IT professional for twenty-two years During this time I have worked extensively in a wide range of user and network applications As a business entrepreneur, I was the founder of two companies, both of which were subsequently acquired by other organizations. I swung the bat a couple of times at entrepreneurial pitches. Learned a lot but needless to say, I'm still working and maybe the next swing will bring the "he only works because he enjoys it" success. I am a Microsoft Certified DBA, a Microsoft Certified System Engineer, an A+ Certified Computer Technician. I have a B.S. degree from the University of Minnesota and an M.B.A. degree from the University of St. Thomas. I can be reached at: TheDon@donfred.com
